Internationaal webinar Challenging Advanced Young Learners Intellectually door Nancy Hertzog

20 oktober @ 16:00 - 17:30

“The ability to challenge children intellectually is the critical ingredient that differentiates the ordinary classroom from the distinguished one.” (Feinburg & Mindess, 1994, p. 83).

Over het webinar

Teachers need to be skillful facilitators to design and scaffold curricular activities that probe and develop students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This session will empower educators of young, advanced learners to design learning environments that emphasize intellectual goals and engage them in reasoning, hypothesizing, predicting, analyzing ideas, and pursuing deep understanding. An introduction to the Project Approach, outlining an inquiry process will be shared as a way for students to connect learning to their own interests and experiences. Facilitating project investigations addresses students’ unique learning needs, enhances their dispositions to inquire, and makes learning relevant, meaningful, and engaging.
